FAQs

1. What makeup brands do you use?

My professional kit consists of products by MAC, Smashbox, LORAC, Make Up Forever, Dior,
Laura Mercier, Chanel, Benefit and Eve Pearl. I consistently experiment with new makeup
products, and I always aim to use the products (concealers, foundations, lipsticks, etc.) that I
feel are the best in their field. For airbrush services, I use Temptu Pro airbrush makeup.

2. Where are your bridal makeup trials held?

Bridal makeup trials are generally held at my condo in Lakeview/Wrigleyville.

3. How much do bridal makeup trials cost?

Bridal trials cost $30 - this covers the use of my products and false lashes.

4. What happens at the bridal makeup trial?

When you come for your bridal trial, we will discuss and practice the look you are wanting to
achieve on your wedding day. This is also the time when we will go over any specific allergies
and/or skin conditions you might have. Once you are pleased with the final look, I will record all
the products I have used on a face chart that I will bring with me the day of the wedding. At the
end of the trial, you will receive a bridal makeup contract that you can fill out at that time or mail
back to me. A signed contract and non-refundable deposit of 35% (of the total cost) are required
to hold your wedding date.

5. What should I bring with me to my trial?

Pictures are always helpful! "Natural" makeup to some is "heavy" makeup to others, and vice
versa. I find that my brides and I usually reach a consensus quicker if there is an image to work
from -- whether it’s a picture from a magazine or a picture from a time you really liked your
makeup. Also, if there is a particular foundation or makeup product you use because of a
specific skin condition, bring that as well.

6. What products do you recommend I have on-hand to touch up during the reception?

Although your makeup should stay in place for the duration of the wedding and reception, I
always recommend brides carry a lipstick (the brand/color we decide on at your trial) and a set
of blotting papers with them the day of the wedding.

7. What should I do if I break out right before the wedding?

Don’t panic! Believe me, I know it’s hard. One of the worst things a bride can do is panic and
start slathering every zit cream she can find on a breakout. Redness and the occasional raised
pimple are easy to color-correct and conceal; flaky, irritated skin is not. If you break out before
the wedding, you can spot treat with benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid, but make sure it is
something you have used before and know you don’t break out from. Also make sure not to
overly re-apply since this can lead to irritation.
